Candy Blast feels like pure fun in a cup. Produced by Elias and Shady Bayter at El Vergel in Colombia, this coffee is bursting with the kind of juicy, candy-like fruit character that made us immediately want to share it. It’s playful, vibrant, and somehow still incredibly balanced, landing perfectly in our Dreamy Lo/No Cafs lineup.

The Bayter family has become known for pushing Colombian coffee processing into exciting new territory. Former avocado farmers turned coffee producers, Elias and Shady are constantly experimenting with fermentation techniques, varieties, and processing methods to create coffees that feel fresh, expressive, and totally unique. Alongside their mother Martha Montenegro, they’ve helped redefine what fruit-forward Colombian coffees can be.

This lot goes through an intricate multi-stage fermentation process, starting with a full cherry anaerobic fermentation before being co-fermented with watermelon and yeast for several days. The result is intensely aromatic and wildly flavourful, while still feeling clean and polished in the cup. Beyond processing innovation, El Vergel continues to invest in sustainability projects, farm improvements, and community initiatives that make their work feel just as thoughtful as the coffee tastes.
